Training Rides

Lightening Velo logoLong Beach's Lightning Velo Cycling Club has created a special training schedule just for our Tour of Long Beach cyclists!

It consists of 11 weeks of training on Saturdays prior to the event with mini-clinics followed by rides for all levels of cyclists. They will have 3 separate riding groups to accommodate the 3 levels of riders.

 

Nathan thumbNathan's Newbies – This training group is for the new rider who wants to develop their basic fitness level and riding skills to prepare for the Tour of Long Beach. Lightning Velo will help these people achieve their goal.

Jacob's Jammers - This training group is for the rider who enjoys cycling, but doesn't get out very often and knows they need to ramp up their efforts to complete the 62 or 100 mile ride while training in a group.

Micaela thumbMicaela's Milers - This training group is for the rider with a higher level of experience and fitness, but wants to get in the extra miles for the 102 mile Fondo with others determined to make the long haul.
